About the scarf
This scarf is made from a lightweight mixture of cotton and acryl. It's very soft quality and handwoven in Nepal. A perfect scarf for the in-between season.
The fabric is handwoven from a mixture of high-quality local Nepali cotton and acryl in a fair trade project. Why choose local over materials produced in countries like India or Bangladesh? We started a factory in Nepal to maximise our social-economic impact in one of the poorest countries in the world. Buying local fabric increases our impact. Especially after recent earthquakes the Nepali community and textile industry can use the extra work and income.
‘JUX’ literally means ‘fun’ or ‘having a laugh’ in German. According to Jitske Lundgren and Carlien Helmink fashion and a sustainable lifestyle should be fun for everyone. For the designers, people working in the factory and everyone wearing and using the products. The handshake inside each garment introduces you to the Nepali tailor who made it.
