We would like to introduce you to our fabrics. Where do they come from and how exactly are they made.
Last but not least why are they the preferred choice for the people and the planet!
This lovely fabric is GOTS certified (what?!) and made from a hiqh quality mixture of bamboo and organic cotton. The complete production process of the fabric itself takes place in China, in of course a GOTS Certified factory. Why choose organic over conventional bamboo and cotton? The conventional materials are treated with toxic pesticides and chemicals harmful to people and planet. For the growth of bamboo and organic cotton no chemical fertilisers are needed and less water is used. Also, it is safe for people working with the (raw) materials and healthier for your skin.
Did you know bamboo is a co2 neutral fibre? The amount of co2 that this plant produces evens out the amount of co2 is used to turn it into a fabric.
This soft material comes from wood. Yes, wood! The wood pulp used in this fabric is harvested from tree farms that are sustainably managed and traceable. The fiber production itself is extremely eco-friendly due to its' closed-loop process; meaning up to 99% of its water and solvents are recycled and reused. The yarn is coming from Lenzing Austria and it is woven in China. The fabric hardly creases, keeps its shape, is machine washable and dries quickly. What more can you wish for?
Linen is a textile made from the fibers of the flax plant, the fiber is very strong, absorbent and dries more quickly than cotton. Garments made of linen are valued for their exceptional coolness and freshness in hot and humid weather. The fabric used in our products is high-quality organic linen. Conventional linen is treated with toxic pesticides and chemicals that are harmful to people and planet. This organic linen is not treated with any of those as well as that for the growth of this linen no chemical fertilizers are needed and less water is used. In addition, it is safe for people working with the (raw) material and healthier for your skin.
This fabric is high-quality ‘vegan silk’, which is wood pulp from sustainably managed forests. Turning wood into fabric is a Japanese invention with a process similar to Tencel production. Why choose vegan over conventional silk that is made from factory farmed silkworms? Vegan silk has the same luxurious appearance but is less fragile. It hardly creases, keeps its shape, is machine washable and dries quickly. You can wear it on your bike and still look flawless!
Cotton is a soft, fluffy staple fiber that grows in a boll, or protective case, around the seeds of the cotton plants. The cotton plants come from several species of plants of the genus Gossypium, belonging to the hibiscus, or mallow, family. The cotton used in our products comes from Turkey and is not treated with toxic pesticides and chemicals that are harmful to people and planet. Also for the growth of this cotton you don’t need chemical fertilizers and less water is used and it is safe for people working with the (raw) material and healthier for your skin.
